After over fifty years of aiding individuals facing homelessness, the Christian Service Center on West Central Boulevard has completed a $7 million renovation. This initiative is focused on expanding its services and restoring dignity to those in need. The recent upgrades include a nearly 6,000-square-foot pavilion, new bathrooms and shower facilities, as well as a newly established medical clinic.
Before these renovations, parts of the facility were reportedly in such disrepair that it was almost condemned. The enhancements are intended to increase the number of people served while enhancing access to essential resources. A center representative emphasized the profound impact basic services, like showers, can have on someone’s daily life. The new medical clinic broadens access to various health services, including mental health, physical health care, and pharmacy services. The center is also equipped with a physician on staff. Meanwhile, the campus features a bus from the 407 Connect program, aimed at connecting homeless individuals with housing resources. Since its launch in August 2025, the program has successfully housed 209 people.
