Universal Hits Guests With Surprise $19.95 Charge for ‘Fast & Furious’ Coaster, Effective Nov. 2

The anticipation around Universal’s latest roller coaster has generated much buzz among thrill enthusiasts. However, visitors planning to try out this new attraction may need to budget more than they originally thought. Universal has announced that starting November 2, there will be a new $19.95 fee for a single-use Universal Express option specifically for Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift. This charge is not part of the admission price and is aimed primarily at those wishing to bypass the regular wait lines.

The Fast & Furious coaster, which accelerates up to 72 miles per hour, has been a key addition to Universal Studios Hollywood, distinguished by its advanced technology and unique 360-degree vehicle rotation. While the new fee could enhance the experience for some, the rising costs associated with theme park visits raise concerns about affordability, particularly for families. As Universal prepares to launch a similar attraction in Orlando by 2027, it remains uncertain whether this pricing strategy will be replicated there.
