After more than four decades, the iconic characters from The Golden Girls are making a return, this time in drag. The beloved television series originally aired in 1985, entertaining audiences for seven seasons and winning 11 Emmy Awards while exploring themes of friendship, aging, and humor.
In this new performance titled Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue, Dorothy, Blanche, Rose, and Sophia are faced with fresh escapades. With Sophia out on bail following a DEA incident at their retirement home, and Blanche and Rose venturing into the tech world with a sex app for seniors, the dynamics have taken a wild turn. Dorothy finds herself in a relationship with a younger boyfriend, adding to the chaos. Set for November 1 at Steinmetz Hall, the show promises an adults-only experience that pays tribute to the original series while embracing a bold new perspective.
