Universal Orlando Resort is set for a wave of significant changes, with numerous attractions closing temporarily or permanently in the upcoming months. As the resort enhances its entertainment offerings following the May 2025 launch of Universal Epic Universe, guests should prepare for the absence of several beloved rides and shows.
Some closures, like the Hogwarts Express, will have a notable impact on visitor planning, especially with its scheduled halt on November 4, 2026, while Jurassic Park River Adventure is currently shut down until December 16, 2026. Attractions such as Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges are also on the closure list. Notably, Volcano Bay is slated to close from October 26, 2026, until at least April 1, 2027. Meanwhile, Animal Actors on Location will have its last show on November 2, 2026, before permanent closure. With these closures, guests are advised to check Universal’s official schedules before their visits.

Ill miss it but I dont plan to renew my Universal pass this Spring. I love going there, I do. But if you add parking to what the basic bottom tier pass costs, Universal is expensive. There are so many times I didnt go because Id have to drop $20 on parking. That adds up. I could get the next tier but it amounts to what i would have paid with the lower tier pass in the end. And the Harry Potter area is so crowded, you cant move around. Whats the point if spending all of this money at the parks, you cant have the full experience? I know as a Florida resident, we get perks but these parks are for tourists not residents.
